I recently experienced a loss in my family and going through that loss has been difficult, draining and a very dark time for myself and my family. This loss was not expected and left a huge gaping hole in our lives. This dark time has left me in a very depressed place where my mental, emotional and physical health have been affected in a large way.

It's now mid-August, and I know and I want to make some changes. I'm ready to move forward and it's time for me to refocus, reset and restart. I'm just beginning this journey and want to share some things I'm doing with you.

First things first, I'm a huge planner, journaler and writer person with a love of pens and paper and all things stationary. So of course, the first thing I'm changing, is that I did some retail therapy and bought a new planner. This planner is to help me be get back on track of my health: My physical, mental, emotional & spiritual health.

The first thing I did was that I created a new vision board which I'll be placing at the front of my new planner so that it's the first thing I'll see every time I open it. I've also ordered some new inserts to help me organize my thoughts and gratitudes and I'm really looking forward to using these. I'm also creating a health insert section for myself, (read till the end to get your own free download), so that I can have what I want on certain pages and is customized to me.

I'm also a very spiritual person, and am going to be making this a focus moving forward. Having a section about my spirituality and what I'm doing on a weekly or daily basis will help me. Whether it's making sure to spend time with my plants, grounding myself by walking barefoot in the earth, burning some sage or essential oils or doing a daily tarot draw. All these things will help me increase my emotional and mental self.

In my new journal and also in other notebooks, I'm going to allow myself time to draw and doodle. I'm an artist at heart and love sketching, drawing and doodling so I'm going to ensure I take that time to explore my creativity and let my emotions flow through that. Whether I'm using pen and paper or apps like Procreate, I will also be including this in my future routines.

Read. Oh my, it's awful to have to admit I have not read a book in forever. Reading will allow me that escape and also stimulate my mind. This is such a simple action that I cannot wait to start.

Maintaining a positive mindset is a powerful tool for personal growth and success. Positive thinking isn't about denying challenges and dark times, it's a conscious choice to focus or re-focus on health, wellness, and goals and the future.

So to summarize, here are my steps to begin my reset and restart:

Five Steps: Moving Forward with Purpose

1. Self-Care: It's okay to experience moments of doubt and darkness. Recognize your feelings without judgment. This self-awareness is the first step toward making positive changes. I'll be taking time for myself to heal my body and mind.

2. Physical Health: Focusing on my physical health will be an important factor for me, so maintaining a routine of daily yoga, stretching or meditation will help ready my body for the next level, which is exercise. Exercise will help the endorphins in the body and will help me gain strength and endurance, which will help in the long run.

3. Reflect on Goals: What are my goals and do they need to be adjusted and reset? Review and refocus and see where I am on track and what needs to be changed. Goal setting helps to look forward into the future and be excited by it.

4. Practice Gratitude: Amid challenges, practicing gratitude can shift your focus from what's lacking to what you already have. Regularly acknowledge the positive aspects of your life helps to foster a sense of contentment, help recognize what's right in front of you and to be thankful for the little things in your life.

5. Vision Board: I love vision boards and a new vision board is the perfect way to help reset and refocus. As our lives change, so do our wants and needs. A vision board will help us to see this visually and keep our goals and desires right in front of us.

6.(ok so I'm doing 6 steps) Spirituality: Boost spirituality in whatever way calls to you. For myself, I will be ensuring to spend more time in nature, grounding myself, surrounding myself with my crystals and tarot cards and burn essential oils or incense when I feel I need it or my surroundings need it. Embracing your spirituality will help you to become the "you", you want to be. Whether it's in listening to singing bowls, gigahertz videos, reading a holy book or pulling tarot cards, any form of spirituality helps the self and will help your overall well being.

Life's journey is full of twists and turns, but it's how we navigate them that defines our path. Embracing positivity during dark times is not just about putting on a happy face, it's about adopting a mindset that allows us to learn, adapt, and grow stronger. By acknowledging our feelings, realigning our goals, breaking them into achievable steps, practicing gratitude, and prioritizing self-care, we can reset ourselves and move forward with renewed purpose and determination.

Remember, challenges are stepping stones to success, and maintaining a positive outlook can turn even the darkest moments into opportunities for growth. So, take a deep breath, refocus your energy, and embrace the journey ahead with a heart full of positivity.
